Am back from St Louis and the BSB concert. I am a certified AJ fan. Sign me up and write it on my forehead.
First off I spent one night out playing with a friend in Springfield and ran into _lolapalooza. I'm very disappointed you were not wearing the 'coolest belt buckle ever' TM. I would definately have stolen it.
Then off to StL where I had a fantastic dinner and split a pitcher of margaritas with my best friend C and then we were off to the concert.
Because this
venue is all assigned seating there was no waiting in line to vy for floor space. Yay! They had just opened the doors when we got there and there was a little
line of people waiting to get seated. The concert was in this newly converted theatre and the Boys were the first concert since it reopened. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately they didn't quite have the cooling system working right yet so it was a little hot in the venue. About 2/3 throught the concert both AJ and Kevin stripped down to beaters and stayed that way. I don't know if they have done this every show but damn. What the world needs is more of Kevin in a wife beater.
I think this crowd was a little more subdued than what they were used to but I think that was due to the assigned seating. No one was allowed to get up against the stage so everyone stayed back in there seats. We wound up in the orchestra seats right next to the light and sound board. And apparently near a lot of the VIPs. This women kept wandering around with their set list talking to people, telling them when to head back stage and what the last song would be and just generally chatting them up. I'm assuming it was there publicist but I could be wrong. She may have been from the local radio station. *shrugs*
Since we were at the back and I'm short I had some problems seeing so did the rest of my row. We all wound up standing on our chairs for the entire concert. It was fantastic and we had an almost completely unobstructed view. I'd never seen the Boys in concert before and I was really impressed. My friend C admitted to owning on BSB album but she would never have gone to the concert without me prompting her, by the end she was ready to buy there new album and had a major crush on Brian. He cracked us both up with his antics. He also stopped his patter at one point to tell the crowd that he had spent a summer in St Louis about 14 years ago playing tennis and that his old coach was in the crowd with his family. Sure enough C and I had spotted this guy earlier with his young kids and thought it was strange for him to be at the concert, he was Brian's tennis pro.
AJ thanked the audience and the fans for their support through his troubles and then spent the concert running around like a madman. He was always the last one off the stage and at the end he spent a good 3 or 4 minutes playing drums before finally giving in and running off stage.
Nick got yelled at by Brian and AJ for making fun of one of the girls in the box seats, Howie and Brian sang to each other several times, and the cousins looked mighty slashy at several points in the show. I swear Nick blushed when they started razzing him about Paris and both Nick and AJ went in to the audience several times while they were singing. All in all I really like the new stuff they played. Shout, Weird World, Poster Girl, Climbing the Walls and of course Incomplete. I hope that the success of this tour prompts Nsync to do something. Because for all the love I have for BSB right now, I still have double that for Nsync. Bring on the slash fic that this tour has prompted. *sits back and waits*

I am now a fan of his as part of the BSB, but no more than that. Had to correct myself before SOME people (half my flist, i think...) got wind of it and tried to hold me to my error, heh.
