I am working in the dark today. What a weird day. I get in to work this morning at 7am and it is already about 75 degrees in the building. That's hot. By 8 it is over 80. One of the facilities guys comes around asking it we mind turning off the over head lights so that they can attempt to cool off the building because they are doing repairs on the water cooler towers and they can't get the air conditioners working. So fine we are working by the light of our computer screens and we have all of the blinds shut on the windows to avoid the greenhouse effect. It's only supposed to get to 55 today people, but unfortunately we don't have any windows that open. So it is 9:30 and I'm sweltering in the dark. Warm dark place, boring work, it's gonna be naptime very soon whether I like it or not.

Caffeine, must find caffeine.

Oh and then in the middle of my Tuesday meeting, facilities decides it's time for a surprise tornado drill. I have to release the meeting, remind everyone to come back after the drill so we can finish, and then head to the stairwell to wait for the all clear. Fantastic. 10 minutes of standing in a crowded, hot, stairwell with a bunch of bored engineers.

I'm really cranky today if you couldn't tell.

OK this is mainly because I'm trying desperately to get [livejournal.com profile] summerfly to see the beauty that is popslash. *hee*

So here is yet another Joey rec and picture.

I have an unholy love for this shirt. Well, Joey in this shirt.

Rec:
Montana by Rhys
I think I see a pattern with my Joeyfic. I really love the way Rhys writes him.

"So. Um. Montana, Joe?" JC decided to ask again, hoping one day he'd get an answer, and it was day four, after all, and they still had, like, at least a whole two days, if JC was reading those maps right. "Can I have a clue?"

Joey came out of the bathroom, shaving. "It's something I need to do. I made this list," Joey said slowly, the razor scraping against his throat, "of things I needed to do before I was twenty-five. And I'll be twenty-five soon."

JC smiled and tucked his legs under his body, folded. "Like, in six months. I'm gonna be twenty-five in, like, five weeks. I still don't get it."

"Okay." Joey sat down on the bed, covering in shaving cream. "Everyone thought I'd turn out to be a huge, immense failure, right? So, I wrote a list of courageous, life-worthy things to do by the time I was twenty-five. There are five things, and I've done two of them so far -- make music as my life and have a baby. So, that leaves three. And I'm doing them."

JC smirked. "Okay. So. How do I fit in?"

"You just do. Don't question," Joey said, smiling, but JC saw something lingering in his eyes that he didn't understand, but, like, this was Joey's trip, so whatever. "Just, go with it, all right? It'll make sense soon. We're almost in Montana."

"It's all about Montana, isn't it?"

Joey grinned. "Montana is the world, man."

and... and....

I really kinda like JC's bonus track. It's nice and angry. Wonder who he's singing that about? hmmm.... you know those 'girls' were added in there for recording purposes only.
