Jun. 8th, 2006 12:52 pmSitting in the airport in Springfield Mo checking LJ. A plane from Dallas is off loading and this young guy in army fatigues walks off the plane and up to me and asks me for the time. I tell him it's 10 til 1 and his face lights up great big. He says "Missouri!" beat "I"m home!" and throws his arms out. It was almost as if until he heard the time in a local accent he wouldn't quite believe he had made it. I smiled back at him and welcomed him home.
For all my personal criticism of the President and our presence in Iraq I support and love all of those men and women over there doing what their country has asked them to do. As I was checking in for my flight there were 3 men and women in fatigues doing the exact opposite of the guy I just spoke to, heading out to who knows where. Best of luck soldiers my thoughts are with you.
