In the last 48 hours I've had to deal with my two least favorite things. Doctors and Car Service Techs.

I have been trying to get into see my dermotologist for the last week. See my previous post. I'm itchy!  The Doctor is generally a good guy and said to call him if my problem didn't clear up. Well, problem not clearing up, calling..... However the 'nice' ladies in the office will not let me see him until the end of the month. I asked if I could do a phone consult with him. No dice. Can I go into the office and wait for an opening. No sorry. I explained to the 'nice' lady that I wasn't sleeping due to said itchiness and that it was spreading rapidly. I was very quietly going INSANE. She hmmmd and hah'd around and said that she could get me in to see one of his associates on Wednesday around lunch. In a different town 45 minutes away.  This was on Monday. Ok, not my doctor, not where I was asking for an appointment and still more than 72 hours of suffering through this issue.

I called a different doctor and explained my situation. They could get me in first thing this morning to see the physicians assistant. Ok, at least I'm getting in the door. Turns out to be a great decision. The PA was fantastic, she took one look at me and went OMG how are you even surviving? Called the Doctor in, who I wasn't scheduled to see and had me a perscription within 20 minutes. She explained why my previous treatment from Dr 1 who I am never going back to had probably caused this flare up.  I'm now on a 4 week course of prednisone and I have been given a heavy duty antihistamine to enable me to sleep at night. Which I haven't been doing. YAY!

Onto the 2nd portion of yuckiness. My car. I love my car a lot. My little Saab 9-3 has gotten me lots of places very fast but it has acquired a few issues. In my previous job I worked on cars a lot. I worked with techs who service cars, I worked with failure analysis for one of the Big Three's warrenty divisions. I spent some time with my head under the hood. Promise.

However, conveying that to a red neck service tech in the midwest is useless. He hears a female voice and it's all over with. So when I called to say that I needed to bring my car into the shop for a freon charge and a new master cylinder they laughed and said they would have to see the car before they could order the parts. AARGH! 3 days later, they said that they had to order a master cylinder and it would be in tomorrow. Now had they ordered it when I asked on Friday all of the work would have been done today and I could have my car back but no. I have boobs and therefore know nothing about cars.

When I took my car in 'the boy' stood behind me because he was going to be driving me home. The Service Guy looked over my shoulder and spoke to 'the boy' instead of me. I love him a lot but I know oodles and gobs more about cars than he does. He can out Chemistry me anyday but I got it covered mechanically.  However he has a penis so therefore he got the car talk. Ima gonna kill me a service tech before it's all over with.

So LJ how's your day going?
