That Hormel Chilli ad gets me every time
Dec. 9th, 2005 08:23 amWow, so I get home from my trip to PA Wednesday night to a kind of chilly house. But I figure hey, I did turn down the thermostat when I left. So I saunter over to the thermostat and turn it up without looking at the actual temp in the house. I proceed to fix myself dinner and some hot tea and put on my fuzzy slippers. About 9 pm I realize, ITS STILL REALLY FREAKIN COLD IN MY HOUSE! I actually look at the temp in the house and yes it is just below 50 F indoors. Brrr. Come to find out my furnace is not working properly.
After a late night visit from the gas company that was very frustrating. "Sorry ma'am but its not your pilot light. I can't help you." The guy had called me twice before he actually came out to my house to remind me that it would cost me $60 even if he couldn't do anything. I get that it's gonna cost me buddy but it's 50 degrees in my house and getting colder.
The end result was that I had to go to Walmart at 10:30 pm to get space heaters so that my pipes didn't freeze and of course they required some assembly. Do you know who goes to Walmart at 10:30 pm on a Wednesday night in Arkansas when there aren't any colleges around to supply drunk students with the munchies. Yeah, it wasn't pretty. I wasn't pretty at that point either cause I had been up since 5 am Eastern Time and been on 2 planes.
Anyway long story short, I had to call my home warrenty people to get a furnce guy to replace the ignition on my electronic pilot light and he finally got it fixed after I had missed an entire afternoon of work. But my house was a reasonable temperature last night.
On the up side I have only really been at my place of work for 6 hours this entire week. hee.
Of the quick and not so long winded.
It is 3 degrees Farenheit outside. 3!
CSI was awesome last night. No mustache on Nick!
I finally have some Christmas presents under my tree. They aren't wrapped but they are there.
