Airports Suck

They don't make entertainers like Bette and Tom anymore. If X-Tina wants to survive and still perform in 30 years she needs to take in Bette Midler’s act and learn some tricks. Although Bette has a fantastic voice and can perform an unbelievable show, half of her act was jokes and patter. It was a variety show rather than a concert. Great show! And Tom Jones, who has to be my fathers age was shaking his ass on stage for all he was worth. That man works hard and still has an incredible voice. He had a phenomenal group of musicians behind him. The older women in the audience were screaming like teenies at a Aaron Carter concert. It was great. Gotta love Vegas.
What really sucks is that Sting was playing at Hard Rock on Sunday night. But tickets were $350-600 a piece. That is absolutely crazy! It is a really intimate setting but man there are very few people that I will pay that amount of money to see and if I’m going to pay $500 I damn well better get a personal thank you note as well.
I managed to drop one quarter into a slot machine right before Tom Jones and other than that I didn’t gamble. Too much shopping to do and too many shows to see. Next time I want to see Penn and Teller at the Rio and Mama Mia at Mandelay.
The Vegas Airport this morning however. OMIGOD! I have never seen anything like it ever. Ever, ever... and I was in Orlando during a bomb scare when they pulled everyone out of the terminal and made them all go back through security. There are apparently 180,000 hotel rooms or something in Sin City and 90,000 of them were checking out today. They told us when we got in to give it 3 or 4 hours on the return flight. We did and thank God. An hour to get our luggage checked and an hour and a half to get through security. It was like being at Disneyland on a holiday. Only without the nifty roller coaster at the end. I don't know if people have coined the phrase airport rage or not but it is getting worse than road rage. Man!
